I am just going to pretend I didn't take an extended hiatus from blogging. Right now you can just think to yourself, "They have been having so much fun and keeping super busy with all these different activities and accomplishments." And that will suffice!
We had a fabulous Easter. We spent the week studying and discussing the life of the Savior (thanks to my cousin for the idea and articles). Scamper was full of questions and actually quite attentive.
On Thursday we were able to take Scamper to see the Easter temple pageant. It was absolutely amazing. There was a huge stage, hundreds of participants, over 12,000 viewers--just that evening, and a wonderful Spirit. The life of the Savior was beautifully portrayed. I feel so blessed to live just 20 minutes from the temple that happens to perform this pageant.
Since we want to make sure Easter Sunday is focused on the resurrection of the Savior, we decided to start doing Easter baskets/Easter eggs on Saturday. But our ward also had an egg hunt that day. So we had breakfast and an egg hunt with our ward, and then the Easter bunny came to our house during naptime. It worked out really well. Scamper definitely new what was going on this year. He was ecstatic to find eggs filled with M&Ms, chocolate chips, and pennies. Doesn't take much to fulfill his needs! :) Baby J just crawled around and found eggs on the floor, but didn't notice anything was in them. He was lucky to find a chocolate chip Scamper happened to drop on the ground, and he thought it was delicious!
For Easter dinner (on Sunday) we invited two couples and their kids over and enjoyed a wonderful meal. I always wish I could be with my family on holidays, but these other couples don't have family in town either, so it ended up being perfectly okay. I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the Spirit on this wonderful holiday. Jesus is the Christ, and He lives!
