Lake Powell

Okay, so here goes. This will be lots of pictures. We just got back from Lake Powell. Hubby's grandpa has a time-share, so we go every year. This was Scamper's first year. He did a lot better than I did. I was pretty stressed out, because there was absolutely no schedule, and I thrive on organization. But Lake Powell is heavenly, so it all worked out okay. Maybe next year will be a little easier. Besides swim in the water all the time, this is what we did.Scamper drove the houseboat. He found us a great spot! :)
We fed the ducks. Scamper didn't want to throw the bread--he wanted to eat it!
We rode on the jet-ski.
Playing in the mud with a little help from Mom.
The Hubby went slalom skiing. I can't get up--it's too much work!
We went wake surfing. This was the first year we got to do this. It was so much fun. I was never good enough to let go of the rope.
But The Hubby was!
I went wake-boarding. Or you really could classify this as 'being pulled behind the boat.' Is that a sport? I don't really do much. I am not very brave, plus I only wake-board at Lake Powell, so I don't get much practice.
We went tubing with Scamper. He really liked going over the bumps. And, let me tell you, it was a thrilling ride for the parents!
Scamper learning to spell.
We built a sand sculpture. Well, I can't take credit for any of this. It was all The Hubby and his brothers (with some help from his dad, uncle, and cousins). I did watch Scamper while he worked on it for hours though. But this picture does not give justice to the sculpture. It is the Great Wall of China with a dragon crashing over it. They did an excellent job!
Scamper drove the speed boat.
We rode in the boat. Scamper LOVED the boat, but HATED the life jacket. Not exactly a win-win situation, but it worked. When the boat was moving, he was happy. When the boat was stopped, he, well...wasn't.
Of course we did some leisurely floating.
And to end it all, we took a 4 generation Peterson photo. I am so glad I got to be at Lake Powell with my family and make some good memories. Thanks Grandpa!

I know exactly what you mean about the schedule thing. Sam's family likes to vacation spur-of-the-moment style and it is always really frustrating to me (especially now that I have kids), but c'est la vie! Your pictures are so, so cute!!!

I love the little mud boy. That is just what kids need; to get good and dirty every once in a while. Looks like a lot of fun.
