My Mellow Child

I was so lucky that my good friend CJR came to visit. She has always been the best friend a girl could ask for. She flew from Boise to Vegas and then rented a car to drive up here. Isn't that some sort of true love right there? Scamper loves to have company (he gets bored with just me), so a fun time was had by all! But lets talk about little Scamper for a minute. Look at him closely in all of these pictures and tell me if I have a happy child or a melancholy child. Here is CJR holding Scamper. She looks really happy! I'm jumping up and down trying to get Scamper to look at the camera. Does he look happy?
I was pulling out every trick in my bag to get this close up. There is a little bit of a smile there.
Scamper loves to be read to. I mean just look at the expression of pure joy!
This one shows a small level of excitement. I mean, putting your mouth on a vibrating tooth brush! It doesn't get much better than that.
Scamper does not want my help when he is interested in something. Give him a pen and something to draw on and then leave him alone. He just needs to concentrate-right?
Let me explain this one. I went to the park with a good friend and her little boy (about 1 month older than Scamper). She proceeded to chase her little boy all around the playground equipment, up the hill, down the hill, on the grass, in the dirt...you get the point. Scamper? Sat in the exact same spot for about 40 minutes playing with pieces of bark. Then I moved him to the grass where he sat for the remainder of our time at the park. Obviously enjoying himself immensely. Can't you tell?
I guess what it all comes down to is that I have an extremely mellow child. And it isn't really a problem, except everyone I know thinks he is an angel child all the time! "You're little boy is always so calm." "What a perfect little angel you have." "How do you get your child to behave so great in public all the time?" HELLO? Have you ever had children of your own. He is only perfect when others are around. Wait until you get him alone...... But yes, I am very blessed to have my little boy. I love him very much (even when he doesn't want to play with mommy).

On a side note: I had my Primary Program on Sunday and the kids did so good. I was released as Primary chorister in my old ward and called as Primary chorister in my new ward. So now I just have one more program to do. But I love the Primary kids!

that is so funny, lewis would seriously sit there forever with just one train or one truck in the same spot...he was just like scamper, char on the other hand goes a million miles a minute, in a matter of seconds she has my purse, a pack of gum and all the pieces unwrapped...

Seara was mellow like that - I so understand what mean by people saying "what an angel" and you just want them to be a fly on your wall! Seara hated strangers and always made mean faces to people at the store, park, etc., so I was grateful to get my little social Lija who actually smiled at people and chatted with them!

My K was a lot this way. Not too chill, just not super animated like others babies were! He is a doll and looks like he just likes to do his own thing!

How nice to have a nice mellow kid. I've had some of each, though I don't know if my mellows ones were quite as mellow as yours. :) Good luck with Primary Program round 2! :)

Isn't it funny how different all the little personalities are? My boy and big girl are night and day. Don't worry. Your next one will be a holy terror. (o: Does that give you hope? *snicker*
