By recommendation of a friend, I decided to try a detox diet. It is a 6 day diet, but very intense. I figured I could do anything for 6 days. Well, it was 6 of the longest and hardest days of my life! I am only posting this on my blog, because I feel very proud of myself for sticking with it. Just so you get a small taste of what this diet is like, I will list what I ate and how I exercised.
-glass of water
-AM workout (40 minutes of cardio [running])
-glass of water; supplement (flaxseed oil)
-breakfast (protein shake: strawberries, protein, soymilk, wheat bran, ice)
-glass of water (with lime)
-AM snack (small piece of fruit)
-glass of water
-lunch (green salad [and I mean GREEN--lettuce, cucumbers, celery, broccoli])
-glass of water; supplement (multi-vitamin)
-PM workout (cardio with weights [work-out at the gym])
-glass of water (with lime)
-PM snack (1/3 c raw almonds)
-glass of water
-dinner (4 0z chicken or fish, 1 c berries, 2 c leafy greens [collards, bok choy, spinach, kale])
-glass of water; supplement (flaxseed oil)
-late-night snack (herbal tea)
So, in the end I do feel GREAT! I was a little hungry in the afternoons, but I made it through. I lost 1 pound (yeah) and a few inches here and there! But the main reason I did this was to "jump-start" myself to healthier eating habits.
Here is a quick summary of my feelings:
I don't like working out two times in one day.
I like how it feels to eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
I don't like to go to the bathroom every half hour!
I really like bok choy. I had never tried it before, but it is wonderful.
I don't much care for herbal tea. Maybe it would be better with sugar.
I am GLAD this is over.

I'm impressed! That's pretty hardcore. Good work.
I agree--exercising twice a day seems a little excessive. But I love eating lots of fruits and vegetables. It makes me feel so good! I don't enjoy herbal tea, either.
Wow! That was intense! Good job for sticking to it!
That is pretty impressive. I'm sure your body felt great getting all cleaned out. Too bad I'd never have the willpower (or deep enough desire) to do something like that!
Woa, that's intense. Good for you!! I can't believe you could exercise that long, that is crazy! My mission president was big on us drinking a ton. At first we'd have to go to the bathroom all the time, but soon enough your body adjusts. And then your skin is glowy. :)
you are amazing! that sounds really really hard.
Okay, I could not have done that detox. Good for you for sticking it out, talk about endurance and self control.
Wow. You are super brave. I hate killer diets, but it is also fun to say that you have done it--kind of like childbirth! (o: It all helps you relate to girlfriends, right?
