My family came into town for Spring Break. I am so lucky, because I got to have them here for an entire week! It was my mom, my step-dad, and my niece. We spent the first 3 days camping and hiking in Zion National Park.
Helping set up the tent
Roasting marshmallows
Eating breakfast--it was cold in the mornings!
Lounging in the tent.
Going to sleep. This was Scamper's first camping trip, and he did so great. He slept just like he does at home.
Hiking up to Angel's Landing. Scamper loved being in the backpack.
Me, Scamper, and my niece
Walter's Wiggles (a famous part of the Angel's Landing hike)
Putting on some sunscreen!
Here is my mom, step-dad, and niece at the very top of Angel's Landing. I didn't go all the way up, because I had the baby on my back. I didn't want to risk anything happening, because there are drop-offs on both sides of the path. Plus I already did this hike a few years ago.
Trying to stay warm (the Hubby only came up for one night, because he had to work--bummer!)
Hidden Canyon trail (the second day)

Watchman trail (the last day)
I guess Scamper got a little worn out!
When we got home, we did lots more fun things. This is Scamper playing with bubbles. I thought this picture was perfect.
Scamper wore me out. He LOVED the slides. As soon as we went down one, he would run back to the stairs so we could go again. Of course, I was the one who had to carry him up!
Then we went to a place in town called Jumpin' Jacks. It is just a room full of these huge blow up slides and obstacle courses.

Awesome post. We sure did have fun. Scamper is one cute little boy.
i wish we were needing to put on sunscreen! looks like a very fun week for you guys. i bet your mom loved spending all that time with your little guy.
What a fun spring break! Camping sounds so fun! A little cold, but fun! I love those places with the big blow up toys!!! Regie really loves it! Sounds like Scamper did as well!!!
What a fun week! I love it when family comes to vist.
Okay, I've got major camping fever and I'm wondering if we should plan a trip down to Zions in the next couple of weeks. Was the weather pretty warm? Did you freeze at night? I wouldn't be able to do any of the big hikes nor would Lizzie, is there other stuff for us to do (ie. smaller hikes)? Your trip just looked like so much fun.
wow! that's a lot of adventure for 1 week! we'll have to go back to jumpin' jacks - looks fun!
Jenni- The weather was perfect during the day. But it took until about 9:30 or 10 to warm up. With sleeping bags and blankets we were just fine at night. It was the mornings that were so cold, because of some wind. One morning we ate breakfast in the car. But the rest of the day was really wonderful. And yes, there are lots of hikes you can do that are really easy. Plus some really short ones that Lizzie could easily do. Let me know if you come down, because it is only an hour from here, so maybe I could come do a hike with you or something.
Looks like a fun week of camping! Your little guy is getting so big!!
Thanks for all the tips and for answering my questions. We decided to try out Moab in a couple of weeks and then maybe check out Zions after that (in May sometime). I'll let you know if we do come down that way. I would love to see you.
